Dreamsieve support
Dreamsieve is a dream journal for iPhone and iPad. Capture a dream with a few words, a recording or a sketch, and add its details later.
Contact
Write to support@4donsoft.com. It helps to include:
- your device and its iOS or iPadOS version;
- the app's version, which the Settings app shows under General, iPhone Storage (or iPad Storage), Dreamsieve;
- what you did, what you expected, and what happened instead.
Please leave private dream content out of your message and screenshots. A made-up example works just as well.
Sync between devices
Your journal syncs through iCloud between the iPhones and iPads signed in to the same Apple Account. Sync is on until you turn off Sync with iCloud on this device, in Settings, the gear in the Journal tab. The same screen shows the sync status, the last completed sync, and Sync now.
Sync runs while Dreamsieve is open on screen, and checks about once a minute. Before you put a device away, wait until Settings says the journal is up to date with iCloud. On a new device, sign in to the same Apple Account and open Dreamsieve, and your journal downloads.
- No iCloud account: everything saves on the device. Sign in to iCloud in the Settings app to sync.
- A different Apple Account: sync pauses, so your journal isn't uploaded to someone else's account. Sign back in to the original account to resume.
- iCloud storage full: new changes are saved on the device and sync once there's room.
- The same dream edited on two devices before they sync: both versions are kept, and one gets (conflict copy) after its title. It may be in Recently Deleted.
Dictation, transcripts and tag suggestions
Dictate and Transcribe use speech recognition on your device, in US English. If they're unavailable, check that Dreamsieve may use speech recognition (and, for Dictate, the microphone) in the Settings app under Apps, Dreamsieve. If the app says on-device English recognition is unavailable, try again later. Transcribing stops after two minutes; if it times out, try a shorter recording.
Tag suggestions use Apple's on-device model, in English. They need a device that supports Apple Intelligence, with Apple Intelligence turned on and finished getting ready. Suggestions read written fragments and transcripts, so a dream with only a sketch or a recording gets none.
App lock
In the journal's Settings, turn on App lock to ask for Face ID, Touch ID or your device passcode before your saved dreams open. When App lock is on, the journal locks whenever you leave Dreamsieve, and Settings opens only after you unlock. You can still capture a new dream while the journal is locked, and Lock journal now locks it straight away.
Sharing a sketch to Photos
Dreamsieve asks only to add images to your library. If saving fails, allow it in the Settings app under Apps, Dreamsieve, Photos.
Buying and refunds
Dreamsieve is a paid app. To install it on another device or again, sign in to the same Apple Account and download it from your purchases in the App Store. Refunds are handled by Apple, at reportaproblem.apple.com.
Deleting dreams
- A dream: touch and hold it in the journal, or open it and tap Edit dream, then choose Delete dream. It moves to Recently Deleted, at the top of the journal, where you can restore it for 30 days or choose Delete permanently.
- Copies in iCloud: in Settings, under Manage iCloud data, tap Delete cloud copies. The dreams on this device are kept, and sync turns off here. Your other devices keep their copies.
- Everything: see Deleting your data in the privacy policy.
