Karmaleon

Karmaleon privacy policy

Effective October 22, 2026. This policy covers Karmaleon for iPhone and iPad.

In short

Who is responsible

4Don Software, KvK 42192723, at the address on our contact page. Email: support@4donsoft.com.

We are the controller for the personal data described in this policy. Write to us about anything in it.

What stays on your device

For each action you log, the app keeps on your device what you write about it, your private note, when you logged it and last edited it, whether it helped or harmed people or animals, how much and how many, your reasons, and whether anyone saw it or knows. It also keeps your settings: the theme and App Lock. Your karma is calculated from your actions each time and isn't stored.

To keep your actions out of another iCloud account, the app also keeps an identifier that iCloud gives your account for this app, and the identifiers of actions you deleted, without their content.

The app has no account and no server of its own. We never receive any of this. Your device's own backups, to iCloud or to a computer, include the app's data, as they do for other apps.

iCloud sync

When your device is signed in to iCloud, the app keeps a copy of your actions, private notes included, in your private iCloud database, so that your iPhones and iPads stay in step. If you set App Lock to All my devices via iCloud, whether it is on, and when you changed it, is stored there too, and stays there if you switch back to This device. Apple stores this copy under Apple's privacy policy.

We can't read it. The app has no way to share it, so it shows your actions only on devices signed in to your iCloud account.

App Lock

App Lock uses Face ID, Touch ID or your device passcode, which iOS checks on your device. The app never receives your face, fingerprint or passcode.

Buying the app

Apple takes the payment for Karmaleon, under its own terms and privacy policy. Apple reports sales to us, such as their date, country and price, for our accounting. These reports don't name you, and we never see your card details.

Crash reports

If your device shares diagnostics with app developers, Apple passes us reports of the app's crashes. They don't identify you. You choose this in the Settings app, under Privacy & Security, Analytics & Improvements. If you test the app through TestFlight, Apple shares with us what TestFlight shows developers: your name and email if we invited you by email, how often you install and open the app, its crash reports, and any feedback and screenshots you send. Ask us, and we'll remove you as a tester.

Email

If you write to us, we use your email address and your message to answer you. We keep them for 12 months after the conversation ends, unless we need them longer to meet a legal obligation.
